Mystery of the Monster

Looking through the window at the violent fork lightning. A boy sat, who had now idea what was about to happen, before the night was out. Then he averted his eyes from the lightning, and stared at the sea, it looked like a rampaging bull but it never paused in its mad rampage. It had shimmering lights brightness on the top of each wave the lights seemed distant and sinister.

The boy got up and went to the bathroom, his brother was in the bathroom as well “hi Jim,” said Ben his brother. Then a loud humming noise was coming from outside, the boys rushed to the window. A light like the one on the sea, and a new green light penetrated the darkness, but it was so light it was blinding, then the humming ceased and so did the light. Five minutes later a siren noise was coming, for the second time that day they ran to the window. A metallic monster was in view with ten police cars chasing it. Jim screamed

as the metallic monsters hands changed with a flow of molten metal into guns. The deadly metal glinted in a sinister way flooding the area with shafts of light.

Round after rounds of deadly lead thumped into the engines. These spluttered, screamed and finally exploded with an ear splitting roar. Now alone the monster turned his gaze to the window. The boy shivered and in panic he forgot about his brother, turned and ran into his bedroom. He jumped into bed and pulled the covers over his head, trying to block the screech of the monster as it came closer.

Minutes passed and seemed to stretch into hours. The bedclothes were pulled slowly from the bed. They inched slowly away until light flooded into the boys eyes blinding him. He could see an outline of a figure leaning over his bed. Then he heard his mothers voice saying ‘Time for School’. He got up feeling relived that it was a dream, and had a normal day.

Later that morning, a feeling of dread drained the happiness out of the day as he saw a newspaper. In the paper it said there had been sightings of a monster, but the police said it was not true. The mystery of the monster was never solved.
